How does a CIO get out of the report request queue?
The queue exists because your team is the only path from a question to a number. Adding self-service dashboards does not remove it, it just changes what the tickets are about, because somebody still has to build and maintain each view. It goes away when a business user can ask in their own words and get a figure that is computed and reconciled without anyone in IT touching it. That is what SQOR is for, and it needs no semantic model from your team.
Do we have to build a data warehouse first?
No, and this is where most analytics projects lose their first two quarters. SQOR reads your existing warehouse if you have one, read-only, and includes a warehouse if you do not. Either way there is no modeling project for your team to staff before anyone gets an answer.
Is it safe to connect an AI tool to our systems?
The two questions to insist on are whether it writes and whether it trains. SQOR is read-only and never modifies your data, and nothing about your business trains a language model. Beyond that, ask any vendor what happens when their system cannot reconcile a figure. A platform that guesses to fill the gap is a risk you cannot see from the outside; SQOR withholds and says so.
How much of our routine data demand goes away?
The routine part, which is the recurring requests for a number, a breakdown or a comparison that someone could ask directly if they had a way to. What stays with your team is the genuinely hard work: source system changes, data governance, and the questions that need engineering judgment. That is the trade, and it is a good one for the team.
What does the platform need from IT ongoing?
Read-only credentials kept current, and a heads-up when a source system changes materially. The platform checks its own bindings on a schedule and re-binds when an estate moves, because estates move weekly and staleness is an expected condition rather than an exception.
